Jaime Ospina – “The Vessel”
Jaime Ospina brings together musics from Africa, the Caribbean, his native Columbia and surrounding countries, as well as American musics like R & B, Blues, Jazz; the music of African Americans. His new record The Vessel explores these musical connections with traditional and modern instruments and an 18 person ensemble. The album is beautiful.
Feeding Souls is a non-profit organization Jaime founded to bring music to kids in schools.
Jaime and Baruch discuss inspiration, magic, the role of music in human life going back 200,000 years.
Jaime is also a member of the band Super Fonicos, playing Afro Cuban Funk in the Austin music scene since 2016.
