Dan McCarthy has appreciated the work of Hunter S. Thompson for many years. This inspired Dan to find a way to musicalize Thompson’s words. The result is Some Jaded, Atavistic Freakout, a jazz concept album that is unique both in terms of how the music was composed, working with a cypher which Dan developed and discusses in the interview, and the experience it offers.
