George Mann – New Record “A World Like This”
George Mann has been playing music for most of his life. You might remember him from his Hail to the Thief days! He’s also been a journalist and a union organizer. His latest records are A World Like This and its predecessor and companion The Coronavirus Sessions. Mostly original songs, with a few covers of well loved songs, these records both feel like the great singer/songwriter albums of the 1970’s and 80’s.
George has been playing for years with a core group of players. They’re tight! Michael Wellen on drums, Doug Robinson on bass and vocals, Rich DePaolo on guitars and vocals, Mary Brett Lorson vocals, Sally Taylor on violin. Guest artists include Molly MacMillan on keyboards, David Easton on keyboards, and Marty Confurius on double bass.
George and Baruch talk about the music, the conditions in the world that inspired this music, George’s process, and more.
