Bernard O’neill – Bassist, Composer, World Traveler – Music Inspired by Ibn Battuta
Bernard O’neill is one of those people who is inspired by humanity’s beauty and ability to be big hearted and open minded. He’s also a brilliant musician who goes places and learns and shares music and then brings that to the rest of us. Bernard was on Paradigms in 2017 with Nick Page after New World Records released the Ipiros Remixes from the 2010 Road to Damascus project.
Bernard is working on a new project inspired by the life and writings of Ibn Battuta, a 14th Century Muslim scholar who travelled the world, learning about many cultures and religions. Bernard shared his experiences and some amazing music co-created with Sufi musicians in Morocco.
The conversation is fascinating and the music, unpublished elsewhere, is transformational.
