Kareem Roustom: Composer from Syria, Concert Music, Creativity and Peace
Kareem Roustom is a composer of contemporary Concert Music. Born in Damascus, Syria, Kareem moved to the US as a boy with his family. Now a renowned composer, Kareem’s music carries the flavor of his homeland with, as he says “reflections of his life so far.”
Music by: Lulacruza provided the intro music, and Kareem Roustom composed music performed by: Boston Children’s Chorus, for the 2008 Damascus Festival Chamber Ensemble Kinan Azmeh – Clarinet, Maias Alyamani – violin, Wissem BenAmar – Viola, Hassan Moataz – cello, the Crossings Choir, and the Pittsburgh Symphony under Fawzi Haimor.
